IBM lays off thousands of employees in the U.S., with Cloud Classic being the hardest hit

According to insiders, IBM is undergoing a massive restructuring and cutting thousands of jobs in multiple locations in the United States, with its Cloud Classic division being the hardest hit. Although the company has not publicly acknowledged these layoffs, it is estimated that about 9,000 positions may be at risk, including 25% of the Cloud Classic group and 10% of the Cloud group (an independent business unit). The cities involved in the layoffs include Dallas, New York, Raleigh, and some areas in California. The affected departments include IBM Consulting, Cloud Infrastructure, Corporate Social Responsibility, Internal IT, and Sales.
