Dongfeng Motor Corporation Limited announced a large-scale recall of some e-POWER Sylphy and super hybrid electric drive X-Trail vehicles

Dongfeng Motor Corporation has decided to recall 34,816 2021-2023 e-POWER Sylphy vehicles produced between May 14, 2021 and August 25, 2023, and 11,240 2021-2023 super hybrid electric drive X-Trail vehicles produced between September 25, 2021 and October 20, 2023, starting from March 28, 2025. The reason for the recall is that there are problems with the battery management system (BMS) software settings of these vehicles, which may cause the calculated value of the battery health (SOH) to be too small, thereby causing the battery remaining capacity (SOC) to fluctuate, and may even cause the vehicle to enter protection mode, cutting off the power supply, posing a safety hazard of power interruption during driving.
