Ford Germany announced a layoff of 2,900 employees as part of a global strategic adjustment by its parent company, Ford Motor Company of the United States. Affected by factors such as poor operating efficiency and slowing demand for electric vehicles, Ford plans to lay off 4,000 employees in Europe by the end of 2027, of which 2,900 will be laid off in Germany, mainly in its plant in Cologne.
