BYD denies investing in building a factory in India

Earlier, it was reported that BYD plans to invest 850 billion rupees (about 10 billion U.S. dollars) to build an electric vehicle factory in Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana in south-central India. It is currently evaluating three potential sites recommended by the Telangana government and will sign a formal agreement later. Earlier this year, BYD exhibited a number of new energy vehicles at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in India: Sealion 7 (export version of Sea Lion 07 EV), Sealion6 (corresponding to Song Plus DM-i), Yangwang U8 and other models.
