CATL and NIO are in talks to acquire energy business

Chinese battery maker CATL is reportedly in talks with NIO to acquire control of its energy business, which operates more than 3,000 battery swap stations in China. Although the negotiations have not yet been made public, people familiar with the matter did not disclose the specific bid. In the 2024 financing round, NIO's energy business was valued at more than 10 billion yuan. In this regard, people related to CATL said that they currently have no more public information. NIO has not yet responded.
