India rejects BYD investment, while seeking Tesla investment

According to reports, India is actively attracting investment from Tesla, an American electric car company, while imposing market access restrictions on BYD. Indian Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said that India needs to carefully consider strategic interests and carefully screen investment targets. Last year, India rejected BYD's proposal to invest $1 billion in a factory with a local partner.
