Analysis of the national passenger car market in March 2025

In March 2025, the national passenger car market showed a positive trend. Specifically, the production of passenger cars was 2.481 million, an increase of 11.5% year-on-year and 42.9% month-on-month. Among them, the production of independent brands increased by 22% year-on-year and 34% month-on-month; the production of joint venture brands decreased by 1% year-on-year and increased by 63% month-on-month; the production of luxury brands decreased by 15% year-on-year and increased by 56% month-on-month. In terms of retail data, the passenger car market retailed 1.94 million vehicles, an increase of 14.4% year-on-year and 40.2% month-on-month. Among them, the retail sales of independent brands were 1.22 million, an increase of 31% year-on-year and 33% month-on-month; the retail sales of joint venture brands were 480,000, a decrease of 4% year-on-year and 45% month-on-month; the retail sales of luxury brands were 250,000, a decrease of 7% year-on-year and an increase of 68% month-on-month.
