Intel, a US chip giant, has told Chinese customers that they need a license to sell some of its advanced AI processors. Intel said that if its chips have a total DRAM bandwidth of 1400GB/s or more, an input/output (I/O) bandwidth of 1100GB/s or more, or a total bandwidth of 1700GB/s or more, then a license to export to China is required. Intel's Gaudi series exceeds these requirements.
