NIO has announced its self-developed intelligent driving chip, the Shenji NX9031. It is reported that the R&D cost of this chip is extremely high, roughly equivalent to the cost of building 1,000 battery swap stations. The initial cost of NIO's battery swap stations was about 3 million yuan per station, and the cost of subsequent generations of products has dropped to 2 million yuan and 1.5 million yuan per station respectively. Therefore, it is speculated that the cost of NIO's self-developed intelligent driving chip may have exceeded 1.5 billion yuan.
