Samsung Electro-Mechanics receives final approval from BYD for full delivery of multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs)

According to a report by South Korean media Maeil Business Newspaper, Samsung Electro-Mechanics has received final approval from BYD to start full delivery of multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs). BYD is expected to produce about 5.5 million electric vehicles this year, and the number of MLCCs required for each vehicle will reach 12,000 to 18,000. The number of MLCCs supplied by Samsung Electro-Mechanics is expected to reach billions to tens of billions. The MLCCs supplied this time will be used in automotive parts that require long-term stable operation, such as advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
