SAIC Group announced that it will complete the establishment of an intelligent chassis company by the end of June, integrating the three major businesses of steering, braking, and suspension under Huayu Automotive, and Lu Yong, the former director of the R&D Institute, will serve as the person in charge. The new company will focus on L3+ autonomous driving core technologies such as wire-controlled steering and wire-controlled braking, and plans to install them on high-end models such as Zhiji in 2025. The target is the 32 billion smart chassis market dominated by Bosch and ZF. Insiders revealed that this move is aimed at breaking the monopoly of foreign capital and building full-stack self-research capabilities. Currently, Tesla and BYD are accelerating the layout of wire-controlled technology, and SAIC's industrial chain integration model may become a new variable in the smart car arms race.
