CATL launches new sodium-ion battery technology

CATL released its first sodium-ion battery product, a 24V heavy-duty truck starter-station integrated battery, at the Super Technology Day held recently. The battery has a golden power distribution of 4.5 kWh, which can be used at full power, solving the problem that traditional lead-acid batteries can only use half of their power. In addition, sodium-ion batteries perform well in extremely cold environments, can achieve one-button start of the entire vehicle at minus 40 degrees, and meet the needs of daily electrical appliance use. Compared with traditional lead-acid batteries, sodium-ion batteries have a service life of up to 8 years and a total cost reduction of 61%.
