US relaxes safety requirements for self-driving cars

The Trump administration announced that it would relax some safety requirements for U.S. manufacturers to develop and manufacture self-driving cars in order to accelerate the deployment of self-driving cars and enhance competitiveness. The new rules allow self-driving cars to skip certain safety regulations when used for non-commercial purposes such as research and demonstration.
