Toyota chairman proposes $42 billion takeover of Toyota Industries

Toyota Motor Chairman Akio Toyoda has proposed buying supplier Toyota Industries for about 6 trillion yen ($42 billion). Toyota Industries, which makes parts for Toyota vehicles, has set up a special committee and hired advisers to evaluate the offer.
