Malaysia's automotive market to perform well in March 2025

Malaysia's new car sales in March 2025 reached 72,704 units, up 2% year-on-year and 12% month-on-month. The growth was mainly driven by Hari Raya promotions and dealer discounts. Malaysia's total vehicle sales (TIV) in the first quarter of 2025 fell 7.4% year-on-year to 188,122 units. The decline was mainly due to weakening consumer confidence and a reduction in order backlogs.
