NVIDIA tweaks AI chip design to meet U.S. export rules

NVIDIA has notified some of its major Chinese customers that it is adjusting the design of its AI chips so that they can continue to be sold to Chinese companies without violating U.S. export regulations. It is reported that NVIDIA has held talks with customers such as Alibaba, TikTok's parent company ByteDance, and Tencent, and plans to launch new chip samples in June. In addition, the company is also developing a China-specific version of its latest generation of AI chips, Blackwell.
