AMD announces first quarter financial results for fiscal year 2025

AMD's revenue in the first quarter of fiscal year 2025 reached US$7.44 billion, a year-on-year increase of 36%. Adjusted operating profit was US$1.78 billion, a year-on-year increase of 57%. However, due to the impact of US export control policies, AMD expects to lose US$800 million in the second quarter and US$1.5 billion for the whole year. Its data center business performed well, with revenue increasing 57% year-on-year to US$3.674 billion. This growth was mainly due to the increase in sales of AMD EPYC CPU and Instinct GPU. Revenue from the client and gaming division increased 28.4% year-on-year to US$2.941 billion. Revenue from the embedded division fell 2.7% year-on-year to US$823 million. Revenue in the second quarter of 2025 is expected to be approximately US$7.4 billion, with a fluctuation of US$300 million.
