Egypt starts construction of 1.1GW solar and 200MWh battery energy storage project

Scatec ASA has begun construction of a 1.1 GW solar and 100 MW/200MWh battery energy storage project in Egypt. The project will be built in two phases, with the first phase scheduled to be put into commercial operation in the first half of 2026 and the second phase scheduled to be put into commercial operation in the second half of 2026.
