Nissan abandons plan to build electric car battery plant in Japan

Nissan Motor said on May 9 it would abandon plans to build a $1.1 billion electric vehicle battery plant on Japan's southwestern island of Kyushu as it takes turnaround actions and explores all options to revive performance.
