Overall trend of the Australian automobile market in April 2025

In April 2025, the number of new car registrations in Australia was 91,316, a year-on-year decrease of 6.1%. The cumulative sales from the beginning of the year to date were 387,273, a decrease of 3.6% from the same period last year. The purchases of private cars and commercial fleets fell by 8.9% and 4.9% respectively, while the rental fleet increased by 21.2%, the only strong demand. In April 2025, the sales volume of vehicles exported from China to Australia reached 15,619, a year-on-year increase of 18.7%, making it the third largest source of cars for Australia.
