TSMC sells idle equipment to help VSMC build wafer fab

TSMC and its subsidiary World Advanced plan to sell about 510 million yuan worth of machinery and equipment to VSMC to optimize asset allocation. These equipment are mainly used to produce 12-inch wafers ranging from 130 nanometers to 40 nanometers. VSMC's new wafer plant is expected to be put into production in 2027, and its monthly production capacity will reach 55,000 pieces by 2029, creating about 1,500 jobs and promoting the development of related industrial chains.
