Facing a loss of $4.5 billion, Nissan has decided to suspend the development of some new models to curb capital outflows. The company will suspend the development of some forward-looking products in fiscal 2026 and beyond, and transfer about 3,000 R&D personnel to focus on cost reduction. Nissan plans to shorten the cycle from project establishment to market launch of new generation models from 52 months to 37 months, and the development cycle of derivative models will also be shortened from 50 months to 30 months.
