Ford Motor announced that it would scale back its electric vehicle development plans and open up part of the production capacity of its flagship battery plant in Kentucky, USA, to Nissan Motor. Ford announced in 2021 that it would invest $7 billion in the development of the electric vehicle industry and cooperate with South Korean battery manufacturer SK On to build two battery plants.
