CATL launches its first sodium-ion battery

CATL recently announced that its first sodium-ion battery will be fully mass-produced by the end of the year. The battery, called Naxtra, is available in two versions, heavy-duty truck and passenger car. The Naxtra 24V heavy-duty truck battery is designed for hybrid trucks and can reduce the life cycle cost by 61%. The energy density of the passenger car version reaches 175Wh/kg, which is comparable to lithium iron phosphate batteries.
