Volkswagen's PowerCo battery factory

PowerCo, a startup owned by Volkswagen, will build three battery factories in Germany, Canada and Spain. These factories will produce "unified cell" batteries for Volkswagen's electric vehicles. Production at the Salzgitter plant in Germany is scheduled to start at the end of 2025. However, Volkswagen warned that the cost of cell production is greatly affected by electricity prices.
