Foxconn is considering acquiring Singapore semiconductor packaging and testing company UTAC Holdings, a deal that could value UTAC at about $3 billion, according to people familiar with the matter. UTAC's owner, Beijing-based private equity firm Wise Road Capital, has hired Jefferies to handle the sale process and expects to receive non-binding offers by the end of this month. Foxconn declined to comment, and UTAC, Wise Road and Jefferies did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
