In the first four months of this year, new car registrations in the European Union fell 1.2% year-on-year to 3.64 million. However, new car registrations rose 1.3% in April alone, suggesting the market is recovering. In the brand ranking, Volkswagen still maintains its leading position, while Renault, thanks to the success of the Clio model, has seen a significant increase in registrations of 14.2%, approaching Toyota. At the same time, several brands of the Stellantis Group experienced significant declines, including Lancia/Chrysler, DS, Fiat, Opel/Vauxhall and Citroen. In contrast, registrations of the MG brand under Chinese manufacturer SAIC Motor rose 52.4 percent to nearly 70,000 vehicles.
