GM spends nearly $900 million on sixth-generation V8 engine

General Motors announced that it will invest $888 million to build a new generation of V8 engine production line at the Tonawanda Propulsion plant in New York State. The new engine is expected to start mass production in 2027 and will be installed in many of its main full-size pickup trucks and SUVs.
