General Motors plans to launch multiple electric vehicles equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries

GM has previously announced that the next-generation Chevrolet Bolt EV and a future version of the Chevrolet Silverado EV will be equipped with lithium iron phosphate battery packs. GM is also developing a new battery chemistry called lithium-rich manganese (LMR), which reduces the amount of expensive nickel and cobalt and significantly increases the proportion of manganese.
