Although GM has decided to sell its loss-making businesses and idle assets in South Korea, the company has once again denied rumors of its exit from the South Korean market. On Wednesday, GM announced that it would sell its nine direct-sale stores in South Korea and idle assets in the Incheon Bupyeong-gu plant, sparking market speculation. Hector Villarreal, president and managing director of GM Korea, said that optimizing assets is crucial to maintaining the company's sustainable development and stressed that existing production plans will not be affected.
