Tesla's plan to build a factory in India falls through

Tesla, which originally planned to set up a factory in India, has now decided to rely on imports of complete vehicles. Indian Minister of Heavy Industries Kumaraswamy said Tesla will not be produced in India in the short term. The Indian government is considering lowering import tariffs on electric vehicles to attract Tesla and other automakers to set up showrooms, but production capacity is still a long way off.
