Japan's Toyota and Germany's Daimler reach agreement to integrate truck businesses

On June 10, 2025, Toyota Motor Corporation of Japan and Daimler Truck AG of Germany announced that their subsidiaries Hino Motors and Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus have reached a business integration agreement. The two parties will integrate on an equal footing to establish a new holding company, with Daimler Truck and Toyota each holding 25% of the shares. The new company is scheduled to start operations in April 2026 and be listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. The integration aims to improve business efficiency and enhance the competitiveness of Japanese commercial vehicle manufacturers.
