Thailand's auto market faces challenges

The Thai automotive market suffered a heavy blow in 2024, with light vehicle sales falling 26% year-on-year and continuing to decline by 7% in the first quarter of 2025. Both passenger car and light commercial vehicle sales declined, with light commercial vehicle sales falling 13%, mainly due to poor performance of the 1-ton pickup truck market.
