UK plans to launch commercial autonomous driving trials in 2026

British Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander announced plans to launch a commercial pilot project for autonomous driving in England in the spring of 2026, allowing companies to test-run small-scale autonomous taxi and bus services without safety drivers.
