BMW faces battery shortage risk

BMW's battery supplier, Envision Powertrain (AESC), has suspended construction of its planned factory in the United States due to "political uncertainty." The factory was originally planned to provide batteries for BMW's new generation of electric vehicles, which will roll off the production line at the Spartanburg plant in the United States at the end of 2026. AESC said that once the situation stabilizes, AESC hopes to restart the plan. But BMW's production plans are still at risk.
