BYD plans to significantly increase dealer network in South Africa

BYD plans to nearly triple its dealer network in South Africa by 2026 to boost its market share in Africa's largest auto market. BYD currently has about 13 dealers in South Africa, which is expected to increase to about 20 by the end of 2025 and further expand to 30 to 35 by 2026. The expansion plan comes as competition from Chinese automakers such as GAC Group, Chery Automobile and Great Wall Motor intensifies in the region.
