Waymo gets approval to expand self-driving taxi service in California

Waymo has received approval from California regulators to expand its autonomous taxi operations in the San Francisco Peninsula and south of the city. Although Waymo said it would not immediately expand its service in the San Francisco Bay Area, the company has deployed more than 1,500 autonomous vehicles in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix and other places, completing more than 250,000 passenger trips per week.
