Audi originally planned to stop developing and selling internal combustion engine vehicles in 2033, but now has no clear end timetable. CEO Gernot Dörner said the decision was made because of the need for flexibility. Audi will be responsible for developing the platform architecture and software systems for Volkswagen Group's medium and large models, including the next-generation SSP platform, marking the first time that Volkswagen Group will fully turn to "software-defined cars."
