Mexico New Car Market Sales Analysis Report in May 2025

In May 2025, Mexico's new car market sales were basically flat, down 0.2% year-on-year to 119,900 units, the third highest level in the same period in the past eight years. Nissan continued to rank first with monthly sales of 22,573 units, up 8.4% year-on-year, and its market share expanded to 18.8%. Chevrolet's sales fell 6.7% year-on-year to 14,528 units, showing that its competitiveness is being weakened. Toyota's sales increased by 10.7% year-on-year to 10,974 units, surpassing Volkswagen for the first time. Volkswagen's sales fell to 10,164 units, down 3.8% year-on-year.
