Texas Instruments invests $60 billion to build seven wafer fabs in the U.S.

Texas Instruments plans to invest more than $60 billion in Texas and Utah to build seven wafer fabs, which is expected to create more than 60,000 jobs. The funds will be used to upgrade existing factories and new projects, including the construction of two new factories in Sherman, Texas. Haviv Ilan, president of the company, said that it is building reliable and low-cost 300mm wafer production capacity on a large scale to meet the demand for analog chips and embedded processing chips in fields such as smartphones, automotive electronics and the Internet of Things.
