Continental establishes Advanced Electronics and Semiconductor Solutions division

Continental's Automotive Group announced on June 24, 2025 the establishment of the Advanced Electronics and Semiconductor Solutions Division (AESS) to meet the automotive industry's software-defined vehicle electronics needs. The division will focus on the design and verification of semiconductor products to meet the group's internal needs. GlobalFoundries (GF) will become its manufacturing partner. The move is intended to reduce geopolitical risks and enhance the company's competitiveness in the automotive semiconductor market.
