German automotive industry joins hands to promote software alliance to promote industry innovation

With the support of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), 11 German automakers, including Volkswagen, BMW and Mercedes-Benz, signed a letter of intent to jointly develop cross-manufacturer basic software. The aim is to reduce development costs and speed up innovation. The German automotive industry is undergoing a transformation from hardware to software. Faced with challenges from technology companies such as Tesla, German automakers are working hard to make up for their technological shortcomings by forming software alliances and other means.
