BMW Group has recalled more than 70,000 electric vehicles in the United States due to a motor software defect. The fault may cause a sudden loss of power while the vehicle is driving, increasing the risk of accidents. The recall involves the i4, i5, i7 and iX series models. The solution is to update the electric drive motor software for car owners free of charge through OTA remote upgrades or offline refreshes by dealers.
