Toyota Lexus new energy project started in Jinshan District, Shanghai

The Toyota Lexus new energy project officially started construction in Jinshan District, Shanghai on June 27, with a total investment of 14.6 billion yuan. It is planned to produce 500,000 new energy vehicles annually. It is expected to be completed in August 2026 and put into production in 2027. The project will drive the coordinated development of the new energy vehicle industry chain in Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta, plan to purchase more than 95% of the parts locally, and help Jinshan build a "modern international new energy vehicle city" worth hundreds of billions of yuan.
