Tesla is focusing on adjusting the technical details of the humanoid robot Optimus's software and hardware, and began to suspend the purchase of Optimus parts half a month ago. Two suppliers said that Tesla did not explicitly state that it would reduce orders for robot parts, but it would not determine a new mass production plan and restart procurement until the Optimus software and hardware design adjustments were completed. The adjustment may take 2 months. As of the end of May this year, Tesla has purchased enough parts to produce 1,200 Optimus this year, and has produced nearly 1,000 units. Previously, Musk promised to produce 5,000 units this year. The two aforementioned people believe that with the interruption of parts procurement, this goal is basically impossible to achieve.
