BYD and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology jointly established the Embodied Intelligence Laboratory

On July 7, 2025, BYD and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology signed an agreement to establish a joint laboratory for embodied intelligence, focusing on robotics and intelligent manufacturing research to promote technological innovation and industrial applications. The laboratory is located at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. BYD plans to invest tens of millions of Hong Kong dollars in the next few years to focus on the field of embodied intelligence. The two parties will jointly explore data-driven research, develop new solutions for operating data collection, and apply them to the training of embodied intelligence large models to enable robots to perform autonomous tasks in home and factory environments.
