Analysis of cumulative sales of new cars in Germany in the first half of 2025

In the first half of 2025, the cumulative sales of new cars in Germany were 1,402,789, a year-on-year decrease of 4.7%. Compared with the first half of 2019 before the epidemic, it is still 24% lower. In terms of a single month, sales in June were 256,193, a year-on-year decrease of 13.8%. Against the backdrop of weak fuel vehicles, new energy vehicles have shown strong resilience. In June, sales of pure electric vehicles increased by 8.6% year-on-year to 47,163 units, and the proportion increased to 18.4%. More noteworthy is the plug-in hybrid model, whose monthly sales increased by 66.4% year-on-year to 25,608 units, accounting for 10%.
