General Motors announced that its pickup truck assembly center in Silao, Mexico will suspend production for several weeks, affecting the production capacity of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. Although GM said this was a routine operation to optimize production capacity, considering that these two models are the company's sales and profit sources, this suspension is unusual. In the first half of this year, Silverado sales reached 278,599 units, a year-on-year increase of 2%, while Sierra sales were 166,409 units, an increase of 12%.
