CATL plans to trial produce 140Ah semi-solid batteries in the fourth quarter of 2025, and expects to achieve mass production in 2027. The semi-solid battery product line will first supply the next generation of BMW MINI models. The company's technical route is divided into two steps: semi-solid and all-solid: semi-solid batteries: The first generation of products (300Wh/kg, soft pack) will be mass-produced this year, with significant cost advantages; the second generation targets an energy density of 360Wh/kg and a capacity of 78Ah. All-solid-state batteries: The energy density of the first generation of products is aimed at 400Wh/kg (capacity 68Ah), focusing on the low-altitude aircraft and high-end electric vehicle markets.
