Performance of Chinese brands in Indonesia’s electric vehicle market

In the first half of 2025, Chinese brands performed well in the Indonesian electric vehicle market, with BYD's sales reaching 14,092 units, a year-on-year surge of 783%; Chery's sales were 2,271 units, a year-on-year surge of 167.8%. Chinese brands almost mainly focus on pure electric routes, occupying a large share of the Indonesian electric vehicle market.
